Born in Vancouver, Canada, Lesley has traveled extensively throughout Great Britain and the Caribbean. She began painting and exhibiting her work while living in England in the 1980s. Returning to Canada in 1991, she continued painting on canvas and fabric, and also began creating larger-than-life size papier mache sculptures. For several years she worked as an art instructor, teaching pre-schoolers, pre-teens and adults. In 1997 her "super geek" husband convinced her that art can be created using a computer, and she became hooked on the limitless possibilities of Painter. Two courses under the brilliant instruction of Jeremy Sutton were invaluable for exploring the somewhat daunting complexity of the digital painting medium.

Lesley now makes her home on Vancouver Island, B.C. with husband Michael, daughter Lena, and Cosmo their silly but lovable Border Collie. In 1998 she founded the non-profit organization weallr1. She donates a portion of all sales of her work to organizations that inspire and support positive social change.

Lesley's digital painting "Secrets" was chosen for the back cover of the 11th edition of the Encyclopedia of Living Artists. Her painting "Reading" is on permanent display at the San Mateo Public Library in San Mateo, California.
